The Mug Machine - SN0351
Product Information
So, why should you use the Mug Machine instead of a mug press?
Well, we believe that ideally, in the long term most business involved in mug printing should have both a press & and an oven.
Mug presses are good for one offs, and samples, but are quite labour intensive when it comes to production. Lets say you have a run of 100 mugs to print, that's 100 individual cycles of usually 3-4 minutes or more per mug.
The mug machine however, is a convection oven based system. You load 4 mugs at a time, and heat for 10-16 minutes, 2.5-4 minutes per mug (for dye sublimation), depending on room temerature, type of mug etc. This means you're only spending time loading the oven once for every four mugs, which frees you up to spend more time running your business - or means your staff can get a lot more done in the same amount of time, rather than having to be stood by the press to re-load every 3-4 minutes.
The Mug Machine wouldn't be as ideal for you if you're always producing one or two mugs at a time, in this case a mug press, such as the George Knight DK3 would probably suit you better.
So, Ideally you would have a mug press for when you just need to do one or two mugs, for example if you have a customer waiting, or if you just want to run off a couple of samples - and a mug machine for when you want to produce in larger volume.
Plus, this way if you have a rush job, you can use both the press & the oven at the same time & produce even faster.
Decent, reliable mug presses with decent aftersales support, come with quite a hefty price tag - so usually when getting into mug printing, many people have to compromise & go for a cheap none branded heat press, and this can often result in problems. If your mug press stopped working next week, and it took you 2 weeks to get the problem resolved, that would be 2 weeks of no production - no profits.
When you get a mug press, you need to get a good one, that will give you good results & that will not cause you problems, and from a reputable supplier - this means going towards the higher end of the price scale, usually £500 - £700
But, as the convection oven system is less expensive to produce, the cost of the Mug Machine is right at the bottom of the scale compared to mug presses, it is sold with a next working day swap out warranty.
